Welcome
I’m Michelle, a Venezuelan-Canadian writer and editor located on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples, also known as Vancouver, BC. I’m currently the Copy Editor at The Peak.
Previously, I’ve worked for The Peak as their Editor-in-Chief, Opinions Editor, and News Editor. My work also has appeared in LatinaMedia.Co and Study Breaks Magazine. I’ve written pieces about the inequitable response to COVID-19, my Latinx heritage, and the arts.
My poetry has been published in amberflora and centres on mother-daughter relationships, food, and identity.
I’m pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Creative Writing at Simon Fraser University.
